New Kentucky Housing Chairman, William E. Summers V, visits Frontier Housing and People's Self-Help Housing

Chairman Summers took his day to visit eastern Kentucky to look at the exciting housing programs in action and on the ground. He visited the Edgewood Community to learn about Frontier’s innovative manufactured housing program in partnership with I’m Home, funded through CFED by the Ford Foundation. With him on his tour; Rick McQuady, Acting Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) CEO, Mark Offerman, Chief Operating Officer and Brenda Weaver, Chief Programs, Policy and Public Relations.

The KHC team also visited Boodry Place and was pleased with the project quality and energy efficiency. Chairman Summers is interested in learning how KHC can continue an ongoing dialogue between field partners and the KHC Board of Directors.   

Stacey Epperson, President and CEO of Frontier and newly appointed KHC board member said, “It is a breath of fresh air for the Chairman to visit us and learn more about our missions; and, he listened to how we can work together to solve housing problems in Eastern Kentucky.” Tom Carew and Sara Morgan of FAHE, also joined the tour to highlight the work of other FAHE members working in Kentucky’s Appalachian Counties.

The KHC team also visited Dave Kreher, Executive Director, of People's Self-Help Housing in Lewis County. Dave Kreher hosted the KHC team at Fuller Branch Subdivision, the Tollesboro Katelyn Corner and other transitional housing projects.
